“Do not listen to those who weep and complain…”

“Do not listen to those who weep and complain, for their disease is contagious.”
-Og Mandino

Have you heard about “A Complaint Free World”? It’s an amazing idea proposed by Will Bowen, pastor of a church in Kansas City, Missouri. The story has been on several TV programs and newscasts, including Oprah (in fact there was an update on the show just a couple of days ago). The basis of the program is a way for you to help yourself focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want.

From Bowen: “We’ve found through our own experience that when we complain–talk about things we wish were NOT in our lives– rather than making things better, we make them worse. When we complain we are giving energy to things we wish were different and, in so doing, attracting more of what we DON’T want. So, if there are things in your life you wish were different, rather than talking about them, talk about what your life will be like when they no longer are present in your experience.” And to do this, they use a quick and easy reminder – purple bracelets.

Want to play along? Go to http://acomplaintfreeworld.org/

I ordered my bracelets last week – at that time there were over 3 million bracelets sent out. Now there are over 4 million. Go look at the site and decide for yourself if this is the right time to shift your focus!! By the way, the demand is so large that they are saying it will take 4-6 weeks to fulfill your request. (See my notes below) I suspect there are many of us who would love to get away from the complainers, and to stop complaining about them ourselves! It is SO much simpler to get what you want when you focus on what you DO want!!

If you’re ready to have what you DO want, remember to check out the great little book, “Why Most Affirmations Fail”. Author Jennifer Shepard talks about not only what doesn’t work (and what you can do to make your affirmations work), but also about the Four Building Blocks of Successful Affirmations.

You only have a week left to pick up this $27 book for the greatly discounted rate of $17. When you do that and send me your receipt, I’ll send you a free bonus $7 subliminal software program that loads on your desktop. If you wait too long (April 19 or later), the book will go backup to it’s regular price of $27. Find out about the book (and be sure to order from) by going to: http://prosperitychallenge.com/affirm.html. Then, simply send your email receipt to prgm@prosperitychallenge.com to receive the subliminal software as a bonus.

To your ever expanding success,

**NOTE FROM KATIE on November 26**:
Well, Obviously the book offer is over with, but more importantly, I wanted you to know that although I ordered my bracelets in April 2007, they have never come in.
I received an email last summer saying they were quite backlogged with requests, and I imagine that continues. If you, like me, are still waiting for bracelets, then you may want to contact the organization to see how close they are to sending yours. Otherwise, you may want to simply use a rubber band or a scrunchie (those hair ties) around your wrist and use the process they recommend.

Additional Note December 4: Today I received an email saying they are now charging for more than 2 bracelets, and all bracelets require postage (even the 2 free ones). If you ordered a bracelet and it never came in, they have deleted all the orders and want you to order again.

Or, simply use a rubber band – it’s a great reminder and I have used them in the past to remind myself to correct negative self-talk.

Affirmations: Do They Really Work?

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

It seems the jury is still out on the usefulness of affirmations.

Some people swear by them, and credit affirmations with helping them to make massive positive changes in their lives.

Other people say they are ineffective and wishful thinking.

Well, this is a case where both sides really are correct. Although the use of affirmations and the reasons behind their effectiveness is definitely up for inspection!

Affirmations, when done correctly, can help desired change happen far more quickly. When affirmations are framed appropriately, designed to support the desired change(s), and implemented in the proper manner, then they can seem to work like magic.

However, there are some simple basics to affirmations, that many people don’t understand. There is a form (or formula) to creating effective affirmations, and a method for integrating them into our self-development work that makes a huge difference in how well they will work for you. If you’ve been using visualization and affirmations, but you’re not getting the results you want, then you are probably missing out on at least some part of this basic understanding.

If you’re ready to have better results, then this could be your lucky day! Over the past week or so I’ve discovered 2 very useful tools that can help increase your success in using affirmations.

The first was a software product that intrigued me. So I bought the rights to it, made some basic modifications, and tested it out myself. I think you’ll like it. In fact, I’d like to run a little test with it, and you can be a test subject if you’re game! More about that in a few minutes.

The second tool I discovered was a quick-read ebook called “Why Most Affirmations Fail and the Four Building Blocks of Successful Affirmations” by Jennifer Shepard, a syndicated columnist with a tagline of the Lipstick Mystic.

This book contains a lot of useful information about how and why affirmations do and don’t work, and what you can do to make them more successful. I really liked Jennifer’s approach, and so I contacted her to see if I could set up a special offer for my readers.

While affirmations may seem to be esoteric to those who are not familiar with them, they use some very solid premises based on how the brain codes and uses information. They are useful for any area of your life, whether your focus is personal or professional.

Well, it didn’t take a lot of convincing, especially after she saw how connected the Prosperity Challenge is to the work she is also doing. So, she graciously agreed, and the result is that Jennifer is allowing me to offer you her $27 book for only $17 – which is more than 35% off her regular price.

There is a condition, however. This price will only be good until April 17, 2007. The link and the discount disappear on April 18. You can find out about Jennifer and her book by clicking here to be taken to the $17 page.

This great little book will give you lots of insight into how to tune up your affirmations so they work better. She offers some great ideas on how to overcome blocks and get things back on track. I think you’ll enjoy reading the book as well as the articles and suggestions she has to offer on her website.

So, now that we’re talking about affirmations, this is where my new software comes in. I purchased rights to a subliminal message affirmation software program that works on your computer desktop.

The actual affirmations were written based on ideas in “The Secretâ” – you know, the movie everyone has been talking about for months now. But I found the affirmations to be very basic, so I “pumped them up” to make them even more powerful, using my understanding of linguisitics and how the conscious and subconscious minds work.

While the focus is mostly on wealth and abundance, there are also some affirmations and suggestions for other areas of your life, too. As we know, abundance isn’t just about money. It’s also about health, relationships, self-confidence, etc.

So, here’s my offer to you: I am currently selling this software at http://subliminal-messenger.comfor $7. I know that’s a really low price, but I do want people to have the opportunity to use it if they are interested. However, I also want people who want to write their own affirmations to have a solid grounding in what works and why. So when you decide to pick up Jennifer’s book, I will give you a free copy of the Law of Attraction Subliminal Software.

All you have to do is send me a copy of your PayPal receipt for the book and I’ll send you a link to get the software for free. That means you get both the book and the software for $17 – less than half of the full price!

So, if you’re interested, here’s what you do:

  1. Go look at Jennifer’s site, http://free-daily-affirmations.com/
  2. Go look at the software, http://subliminal-messenger.com/
  3. Then, use this link: http://prosperitychallenge.com/affirm.html to buy the book
  4. Send a copy of your PayPal receipt to prgm@prosperitychallenge.com
  5. Read the book, apply the principles
  6. Install the software, enjoy the results!

Oh yes, and if you do use the software, please let me know how it works for you – what you liked, what you didn’t like. I am planning to develop several more little affirmation scripts for various specific issues, so I really want to know what you think, and how it works for you.

By the way, personally I think affirmations are great and I use them often! But I also know their effectiveness is dependent upon several factors.

At some time in the future I will be writing my own book about my successful experiences using visualization, language and various specific techniques and processes. In the meantime, I encourage you to pick up Jennifer’s book. You are sure to learn something new and useful – I did.

To Our Continued Success!

Katie

P.S. I will be posting a link to both the book and the software on the Prosperity Challenge and the Career Life Institute blogs. The book will continue to be available after April 17 – but it will go back to its full price of $27.

Changes and Updates

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

In this post:

  • Changes to the Site
  • Joe Vitale, Larry King and The Secret
  • Spiritual Cinema Circle – a Free Month
  • Free Drawing for DVDs

Well, I seem to be on a roll…this is the second blog I’ve moved in a week.  So, I’m getting pretty good at installing blogs.

In fact, because I have not had nearly as much time to promote and support the Prosperity Challenge as I would have liked, I decided to make this blog the landing page for people who are coming to the site for the first (or second or hundredth) time.

That way you can always find out what’s new by simply dropping by periodically.  You can leave your stories, your questions and your comments. You’ll need to register first, but anyone can register.

Joe Vitale, Larry King and The Secret
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A couple of days ago I sent an email to this list about Dr. Joe Vitale being part of an interview panel on Larry King.  And how the idea for the panel came out of Larry King’s experience with the internet movie “The Secret”.
Unfortunately I was unable to be home the night the TV interview aired, and I still haven’t seen “The Secret”.  But as I mentioned in the email, “The Secret” will be part of the December offering from the Spiritual Cinema Circle, the wonderful DVD program that I’ve been a part of since it began nearly 3 years ago.  So I’ll get to see the movie next month.
Spiritual Cinema Circle – a Free Month
In the email I also sent you a link to a free video short from the October SSC DVD and a link that allows you to get a month of the SSC free (except for the shipping costs).  If you hurry, you can get December issue that includes “The Secret”.  And that brings me to my final comments for this post.
One of the reasons I missed Larry King is that I was at a special pre-Thanksgiving event in one of our local communities.
The event is held every year at this time in a part of town where my husband and I first lived when we moved to this community nearly 15 years ago.  We lived in this very cute neighborhood for a little more than a year before buying our lovely ocean-view home 30 miles north of town.  So, that evening we spent some extra time walking around, seeing what had changed and what was still the same.
Of course, many things had changed in 15 years, especially the neighborhood stores we remembered so fondly.  The really cool book/video store where you could find the most eclectic entertainment was long gone, as was the trophy and award store, and the upper class home furnishings store was closing because the owners were retiring.  Then there was the new bank, and the drug store where Food Mart had been.
But the American Cancer Society’s very classy secondhand store was still there.  I always liked going in there – not only because it was a cause I felt really good about supporting, but also because it never felt like a “thrift store”.  It’s always been clean and well-tended.  Gently used, and still very useful stuff in there.
So anyway, my point.  I was looking through the CDs to see if anyone with my taste in music had decided to part with some of their collection.  Unfortunately not.  However, I did find 3 volumes of the Spiritual Cinema Circle DVDs!  Well, for the price I couldn’t pass them up.  I know the value (and I know that I pay $21 + shipping each month to get mine).
Of course I already have these DVDs, but many of you don’t.  So I’m holding a special drawing on December 15.  All you have to do to enter is to communicate with me in writing between now and then.  Post a comment to the blog, send me a question, an idea, a story, a resource.
Tell me how the Prosperity Challenge has made a difference for you – or that it hasn’t.  Ask me that question that’s been challenging you.  Make a suggestion about something you’d like to see or hear.  Or just send me a blank email.
I’ll put your names and addresses in a basket and on December 15 I’ll have my husband draw three names.  Each person whose name is drawn will get one of those 3 DVDs I just purchased. That’s all you need to do.  And 3 of you will have a chance to enjoy the DVD for free.
So I’ll be sitting here waiting to hear from you….just be sure to include an email address so I can contact you afterwards.
Warmly,
Katie
P.S.  Now, I haven’t looked very closely at the DVDs and I can’t guarantee the physical quality – they are used, but seem to be in very good shape.
